The position has a standard work schedule, with potential but very rare requirements for evening or weekend work. The primary work location will require frequent attendance at meetings throughout the Washington DC metro area.

CENTRA Technology, Inc. provides analytic services and systems engineering to US Government and commercial customers. We have offices in Burlington, MA and Arlington, VA. EOE/Veterans/ Disabled. The individual holding the position will form part of a multidisciplinary team advising the Director for Foreign Investment Risk Management (FIRM), the Under Secretary for Policy, and other senior DHS leadership on the national security risks posed by transactions before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), the informal interagency working group known as Team Telecom and related transactional risk management programs, particularly as they relate to direct DHS equities and critical infrastructure for which DHS has Sector-Specific Agency responsibilities under Presidential Policy Directive 21. The position holder will be involved in all facets of the active case review processes for CFIUS and Team Telecom, including intra and interagency coordination; senior leadership briefing and preparation; threat, vulnerability, consequence, and risk analysis; and risk mitigation strategy development and implementation – – Master’s degree (business/public policy/international affairs/national security) or juris doctor (JD) plus 5-8 years professional experience required.

No specific professional background is required, but the following types of professional experiences would be beneficial for the position:
o Security risk management and analysis

o Financial intelligence analysis

o Export control policy or administration

o International trade policy or administration

o Foreign Ownership, Control, and Influence (FOCI) policy or administration

o Cybersecurity policy

o Telecommunications policy

o Legal/paralegal analysis (particularly in a federal agency or large law firm context)

o Auditing/corporate compliance

The strongest candidates will possess some combination of the following knowledge:
o Broad working knowledge of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

o Broad understanding of homeland security missions, issues, and programs

o Broad working knowledge of the telecommunications industry and technologies

o Broad working knowledge of cybersecurity policy and issues

Strong candidates should also have significant experience with:
o Writing for and briefing senior client leadership

o Intra- and interagency coordination

o Consuming information from the Intelligence Community

o Using collaborative IT tools, such as SharePoint

Strong candidates will also possess the following general skills/aptitudes:
o Well-organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused, with demonstrably strong interpersonal, research, and critical thinking skills.

O Comfortable working under multiple, competing, immutable deadlines, as the work requires significant direct interaction with senior government officials regarding important time-sensitive tasks involving proprietary business sensitive and classified information. – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
