The NSA Acquisition Logistics Office is in need of an experienced Acquisition Logistics Specialist to provide Life Cycle Logistics planning to Program Managers and Program Executive Offices.  The incumbent will influence the design, development and acquisition of capabilities to ensure they are reliable, maintainable with low ownership cost, and customer logistics support expectations are achieved. The incumbent shall coordinate, facilitate, and participate in Acquisition Logistics Integrated Product Team (ALIPT) meetings, Technical Exchange Meetings, and Acquisition Strategy meetings.

The individual will perform a variety of acquisition logistics functions to include life cycle logistics planning for hardware and software based capabilities. These functions require application of NSA and industry acquisition logistics management policies and procedures, development and review of logistics requirements, and their application to the total capability. The incumbent shall plan, direct, organize and prioritize life cycle logistic strategies and requirements associated with maintenance planning, technical data, training, computer resources, configuration management, and system sustainment to achieve mission readiness requirements. The incumbent shall work with Program Management Offices to develop a Life Cycle Logistics Planning Worksheet to create, administer, coordinate, and manage Acquisition Logistics Support Plans (ALSPs) for each assigned program and project. The employee shall assist Program Executive Offices in the review, preparation, and revision of Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL)/Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) for contracting activities, participate in data calls as a logistics subject matter expert, and complete administrative activities associated with the CDRL process. This individual will also review and advocate improvements to acquisition planning documents (Acquisition Strategy, Statements of Work (SOW), etc.) to ensure reasonable and appropriate acquisition and logistics strategies are planned. The incumbent shall lead deployment management efforts to include tracking and managing life cycle logistics action items and discrepancies resulting from ALIPT meetings and Pre-ship Audit/Pre-Ship Review (PSA/PSR) deployment management processes. The employee shall assist in providing post installation sustainment services such as system equipment and documentation audits and facilitation of the system decommission process.

This incumbent will, through a cooperative working environment, be a critical component to achievement of on-time completion of logistics milestones. The incumbent will be required to manage workloads consisting of multiple projects and have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure life cycle support requirements are met through effective leadership techniques, problem resolution and other people skills. Must also possess the ability to synthesize new information quickly, demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and work collaboratively in a teaming environment. Incumbent must possess a customer service focus with the ability to interact with civilian, multi-service military, and contractor personnel of all grades. The incumbents are expected to exercise diplomacy, tact and sound business skills in managing issues and moving projects along to deliver needed capabilities.


Entry is with a Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree plus 1 year of relevant experience or a Doctoral degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

Degree must be in a Business Management Field (e.g., Program Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and Economics) or a Technical Field (e.g., Life Cycle Logistics, Supply Change Management, Engineering, Systems Management, Computer Science, and Information Technology), or include at least 24 semester credit hours in accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial marketing, marketing, quantitative methods, and/or organizational management.

Relevant experience must be in logistics or a related business field (e.g., supply chain management, life cycle logistics, acquisition logistics, and program management). Logistics or related experience in the government or as a government contractor and DAWIA I or equivalent certification is preferred.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary Range:  $66,510 – $103,639

Salary offers are based on candidates’ education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.
