Mission Essential seeks:
HR/Retention Specialist

The HR/Retention Specialist ensures Mission Essential retains as many qualified and experienced employees in the most efficient and timely manner possible. The Retention Specialist will perform a variety of professional and administrative functions to support OCONUS Human Resources and Retention.
• Travel throughout the Afghan Theater to assess, evaluate and report back on morale and wellbeing of Mission Essential and subcontracted employees.
• Track and trend resignations.
• Perform exit interviews.
• Provide everyday general counseling to employees.
• Provide constructive feedback to management and senior leaders.
• Act as a liaison between CONUS and OCONUS Mission Essential employees as well as between the Coalition Forces and Mission Essential employees.
• Manage, track and account for Retention Funds.
• Assist with the day to day operations within the Theater Human Resources Department.
• Facilitate the Retention Awards Program as well as present, track and promote the program.
• Responsible for file maintenance both hard copy and electronic.
• Responsible for Leave of Absence tracking.
• Assist with DBA and benefits documentation.
• Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
• Assist with various report preparation as assigned.
• Plan and conduct new employee orientations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum of two years Human Resource/Recruiting/Retention related experience.
• Prior military experience preferred.
• Proficient with M/S Office Suite with expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Must be willing to work and live in a deployed environment.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, complex and dynamic team environment 12 or more hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience with U.S. military recruiting/retention.
• Experience with Mission Essential recruiting/retention.
• Prior deployment to the Afghan Theater.
• A thorough knowledge of cultural, economic, geopolitical, and military issues of the Middle East is ideal.
• Must be a self-starter that displays initiative, and motivation to recommend and carry out new changes and procedures/policies.
• Ideal candidates will have previous operational experience working with linguists in support of Government operations.
• Travel to other locations in the Middle East as required.
• Must be willing to work and live in a deployed environment.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, complex and dynamic team environment 12 or more hours a day, 7 days a week.
Desired Requirements
Prior military experience preferred.
