Job Description:

This is an analytic modernization activity supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community focused on the geospatial mission domain.  The work environment is very positive and collegial and co-located with our client’s customer.  You will be supported off-site by a strong team of data scientists and full stack engineers that are familiar with the goals of the project to call upon as needed.  In addition, you will be working closely with other teammates on-site along with scientists and engineers from other companies.  You will have the opportunity to work with and leverage cloud-based technologies and explore opportunities to innovate, especially as the project meets milestones and evolves.

Quals & Certs:

Must be a skilled Java developer.  Some background as an analyst (data consumer) and in data ETL, query, and search (and related tools) is preferred.  Must be conversant with software architecture principles and design patterns, able to think on your feet and solve problems quickly.  Don’t need to be an expert in front-end development, but some skills and the ability to create basic user interfaces is a positive (javascript and/or angular).  Some experience with AWS a must (C2S a plus).  A proven track record of delivering completed software packages strongly desired.  Experience with Kafka and/or other ETL technologies good but not required.  Bottom-line, we are looking for a well-rounded person that can learn technology on the fly, has a strong track record of delivery, and enjoys working in an Agile team environment.  The work environment is exciting and fast paced pushing the technology envelope.  The right candidate is technology and methodology agnostic but knows when to apply the right tool to the requirement and is interested in potentially growing into a technical leadership role.  The ability to demonstrate familiarity with a number of computer science paradigms is incredibly helpful.  Good communication and self-motivation are essential.

Our client is a full stack data science company focused on providing scalable, sustainable capabilities to improve organizational performance, optimize investments, reduce risk and gain competitive advantage (i.e. using data as a strategic asset).  The integrate across all aspects of data science; from strategy, data management, collection & ingestion and data architecture, to analytics, visualization and access.  This includes a strong bent towards delivering strategy driven data science maturity, creating flexible and cost-effective enterprise services (i.e. Data-as-a-Service and Analytics-as-a-Service) and continuous capability development and delivery (DevOps, algorithms, analytics, etc.).  Their core team of highly educated and experienced MS/PhD scientists and technologists, full stack developers, business analysts and subject matter experts provides a powerful end-to-end capability following the entire data life-cycle.  Our client is presently engaged with a diverse group of federal and commercial customers.

Summary of Benefits:

Our client expects each member of their team to fully engage creatively, work collaboratively and perform each day to the best of their ability.  To support this, they have created a benefit “safety net” so you can focus on maximizing your contributions to their mission, growing professionally, achieving a healthy work-life balance, and participating in the long-term success of the company.  They review their benefits program annually to ensure that it continues to support the achievement of these important goals.

Their benefits include: 5 weeks paid time off; an Employee Stakeholder Strategic Incentive program; continuous learning culture with PlusOne (Monthly mini-TEDx-like events), IR&D, meet-ups and other professional development activities; performance incentives that include spot bonuses, recruiting and 401k Safe Harbor contributions; as well as Medical/Dental/Vision, Long & Short-term Disability, and Life Insurance.
